Becoming a Scientific Diver

In order to dive as a Scientific Diver for UC a diver must successfully complete the 100 hour Dive Safety Scientific Diver Course. This required classroom, pool, and ocean training meets the American Academy of Underwater Sciences scientific diver training requirements and allows for UC researchers to collaborate with other research institutions. Interested divers should review the course requirements and contact the UC Consortium Dive and Boat Safety Officer.
