In California, all employers must meet workplace posting obligations. The Department of Industrial Relations requires employers to post information related to wages, hours and working conditions in an area frequented by employees where it may be easily read during the workday. We have put together the required postings from UCnet “Mandatory Employment Notices/Posters” page and consolidated them here to print out. Verify your department has these posting available and update as necessary.

Additional posting requirements apply depending on the scope of work (i.e. kitchens, trade work, etc) and from other units from our campus. For a list of available safety and health postings, visit the Cal/OSHA publications page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it legal to put postings in a binder if I don't have room to post materials?

Yes, but only under special circumstances. Some situations where this could be acceptable are a construction site where there is only an on-site trailer, or an agricultural site where the workplace is outdoors. If employers put postings in a binder, they must tell employees where the binder is located, have the binder available for employees, ensure employees have easy access to postings and don't have to walk a long distance or ask to see the material.
